Creative Arts and Culture

Organize workshops, classes, and events that allow youth to explore various art forms such as music, dance, drama, visual arts, and traditional cultural practices.

Education and Training

Develop vocational training programs that equip youth with practical skills . Provide career guidance, mentorship, and internship opportunities to help youth.

Youth Health Awareness

Conduct health education and workshops to raise awarenessabout health issues such as sexual and reproductive health, mental health, nutrition, and substance abuse.

Youth health, sex education, and relationships

Nawaka Africa empower young individuals to make informed decisions, prioritize their well-being, and develop healthy relationships. By providing accessible resources, education, and support systems, we can help youth navigate these important aspects of their lives and promote their overall health and happiness.

Sex Education and Relationships

The youth learn about sex, sexuality, emotions, relationships, and sexual health.  The SER program promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, emotional, and physical development of youths and prepares them for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of adult life.

 The youth learn to understand human sexuality, learn the reason for delaying sexual activity and learn about obtaining appropriate advice on sexual health. 

The SER  program is about understanding the importance of marriage for family life, stable and loving relationships, respect, love and care.  It provides knowledge and encourages the acquisition of skills and attitudes that allow learners to manage their lives in a responsible and healthy way.

Through our program, youth learn about a range of topics, including anatomy and reproductive health, contraception, consent, healthy relationships and communication skills. We use interactive and engaging teaching methods, such as role-playing, group discussions, and games, to encourage participation and learning.

 

Our Sustainable Fashion

Nawaka Africa has being recognized at the Kenya Fashion Awards for their sustainable fashion efforts in 2022

By focusing on sustainable fashion, Nawaka Africa not only contributes to reducing the environmental impact of the fashion industry but also sets an example for others to follow. Sustainable fashion involves considering the entire lifecycle of a garment, from sourcing materials to production, distribution, and end-of-life disposal. It emphasizes ethical sourcing, fair trade practices, waste reduction, and promoting environmentally friendly materials and manufacturing processes.

This recognition serves as inspiration and validation for the hard work put in by Nawaka Africa in creating sustainable fashion that not only showcases creativity but also considers the environmental and social impact. Performing Arts

Youth empowerment through Music, Dance, and Drama

ased the youth talents in performing arts in 2019. Showcasing the talents of young individuals in performing arts provides them with a platform to express their creativity and also helps in nurturing their artistic skills and boosting their confidence.

One of the highlights of the youth performing arts program was a production of a play written and directed by  Chipkizi  team . The play explored issues of identity, social justice, and community engagement, and featured a talented cast of young actors and actresses.

Performing arts, it is a great way to engage youth and provide them with opportunities to develop their creativity, communication skills, teamwork abilities, and self-confidenceT

Building Social Connections:

By giving youth the opportunity to showcase their talents, Nawaka Africa contributes to the development of a vibrant performing arts community. Such initiatives can inspire young individuals to pursue their passion for performing arts, encouraging them to explore their potential and pursue careers in the field.

Our dance program provides a space for youth to learn and practice different styles of dance, including hip hop, contemporary, and traditional cultural dances. Painting & Drawing

Our experienced instructors provide guidance and support, offering tips and techniques to help youth improve their skills. We encourage experimentation and exploration, and every young person is given the opportunity to develop their own unique style.

Youth Appreciation

Through our Painting & Drawing program, youth gain a greater appreciation for art and learn how to use it as a form of self-expression. They develop the confidence to create and share their work with others, and may even go on to pursue careers in the arts.

Great Achievement

This show that a youth from Embulbul community has participated in and completed a mentorship training program and help them to showcase their new skills and knowledge to others.

Youth Appreciation

We believe in recognizing and rewarding the hard work and dedication of our youth who have completed our training programs. Upon completion of the program, each youth participant have be presented with a certificate that recognizes their successful completion of the program and their commitment to learning and personal growth.

Volunteering time and skills

 If you have skills in areas such as fashion design, music, dance, or drama, you can volunteer your time to help teach and mentor individuals in our programs.

Donating materials

We accept donations of materials such as fabrics, sewing machines, musical instruments, and more. These materials can be used in our programs to help individuals learn new skills and create products to sell.

We offer various sponsorship opportunities for the youth, including educational and vocational training programs, creative art classes, mentorship, and leadership development.
